Male Sexual Health Past and Present

Since the beginning of time people have been struggling with sex and especially male sexual health.

In some societies it is openly discussed and in other is considered a taboo subject. Whether it is taboo or not it is essential that we discuss it to give men freedom.

We are not all the same.

I have a friend who would never go swimming with us and we never knew why. One day we were sitting on the bank of the river where we were swimming and a visiting friend took off his sweatpants and jumped in the water.

My friend looked at him and took off his shoes and jumped into the river to my surprise.

What Changed?

We noticed when the visitor took off his shoes that he had deformed feet and when my friend saw this he realized he was not a freak but there were others in the same position. He had only 3 toes on each foot.

That afternoon it was incredible hearing the two chatting about their experiences and I realized why he would never do certain things with us.

I mentioned this story to say this.

What we are going to look at now are some of the mens sexual health problems and we looked at the situation above to show you that most of us are like the rest of us.

Fear is a horrible thing in many cases and locks us away from friends and family so just deal with the problems, get the information and take action.

Erectile Dysfunction

Until the late 1990s, people rarely spoke openly about erectile dysfunction (also called impotence). But all that changed in 1998 when the “little blue pill,” hit the market. The first safe, effective, and easy-to-use treatment for erectile dysfunction, Viagra brought the problem out of the bedroom and into the doctor’s office.

Sexually Transmitted Disease

STDs are a worldwide public health concern because there is more opportunity for STDs to be spread as more people travel and engage in sexual activities.?It is important to make sure you protect yourself against these STD’s by taking the appropriate action.

Impotence

This is often linked with erectile dysfunction however impotence can actually occur from a number of factors such as depression, stress and sometimes because you are in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Mens health is more about getting in touch with the inner man and pushing down that ego. If something feels wrong then it probably is.

Learn to get in touch with your feelings, a horrible thing I know, and if you need help go get some advise from someone you trust.

Aside from the obvious need to be informed about the dangers of sexually transmitted disease, men should also be educated about the women’s sexuality and women’s needs. Unlike men, the sexual functions of women are influenced by a number of factors, and not the normal rise in libido.

It is a known fact, especially in poor countries, that what goes around as knowledge about sexual health is nothing short of a myth. Often, young boys and girls rely on the peer group to get information about sexual health, or about sex itself.

But for men, whether they live in a poor country or in a developed nation, sexual problems must still be addressed by going to a sexual health clinic. Erectile dysfunction is not just a physical problem. It is also linked to emotional and psychological distress. While men who suffer from erectile dysfunction still have the ability to father a child, they do encounter challenges in sustaining their relationships and even their own self-esteem. By getting professional help, men with erectile dysfunction can benefit from science-based information and even medications.

Sexual health is, above all, about maintaining physical health, safety in intimacy, and sustaining good relationships with those we love.
